Langwarrin businessman and Sundance Yacht Sales customer Jason Close, has skippered his Beneteau First 31.7 and crew to win the Cruising Division at the 2009 Hamilton Island Race Week.
Close, 41, and his Victorian crew sailed 'Fade 2 Grey', which he brought in 2006, to three wins in six races, collecting line honours on four occasions in the biggest class at the prestigious Queensland regatta.
"The result came down to the final race; we had to put four boats between ourselves and our nearest rival and we ended up 10 boats in front," said the skipper, who has already received offers of sponsorship from sailmakers.
