Oceanis 50

26/04/2006

Twenty years after the launch of the first Oceanis, Beneteau introduce the Oceanis 50, a prestigious yacht that marks a new era in the history of these blue water cruisers, which are intended for owners who expect the best from the biggest yacht builder in the world.

Elegance has been the key word in the design of the Oceanis 50. By clever creative work on the deck, the Berret-Racoupeau design office were able to change the exterior view of the shape whilst retaining the major assets that made the Oceanis a success - light, ventilation, sweet clean lines, ease of movement around the boat, ergonomic cockpit and helm positions and ease of handling are many of the criteria which guided the development of the first-born of the fifth generation of Oceanis.

As for her sailing qualities, when designing the hull Berret-Racoupeau laid particular importance on the appendices, rig, upwind and downwind performance, passage through the sea and the balance of the helm.

For the interior, the Beneteau design office and the architects worked closely with the famous Italian designers Nauta Yachts to create a light, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The dynamic and plush interior style combines woodwork in Moabi, stainless steel and white surfaces.

In the tradition of her predecessors as regards sea-keeping behaviour, practicality and comfort, the Oceanis 50 opens the way for a new breed of Oceanis, with more refinement and higher performance, for ever more beautiful cruising.
